Smart Shooter wins framework contract of up to $150 million with US Department of Defense

The Israeli company was selected as the sole supplier for anti-drone systems for a special Pentagon task force. The 3-year contract opens the door to cumulative orders of up to $150 million.

Smart Shooter, via an American subsidiary, has won a framework contract as the sole supplier to the US Department of Defense for supplying anti-drone systems. The agreement, lasting up to 3 years with an order ceiling of $150 million, aims to strengthen the defense capabilities of US forces against UAV threats.

Smart Shooter, a company specializing in smart fire control systems, reports winning a strategic framework contract with the US Department of Defense (the Pentagon). According to the company's report, its wholly-owned subsidiary, SMART SHOOTER INC, was selected as the sole supplier for anti-drone systems, training, and related services, with a potential scope of up to $150 million over a three-year period. The win represents a significant milestone for the Israeli company, marking a deep entry into the world's largest defense market with technology at the forefront of the fight against the UAV threat.

The agreement, signed on September 29, 2026, is a Single-Award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) framework contract. This model does not guarantee revenue up to the full contract ceiling, but rather sets the terms and framework through which the US government can place future orders. According to the report, Smart Shooter's actual revenues will stem from individual delivery orders issued by the ordering body during the contract period, which will last up to 36 months. The company's status as a "Single Award" supplier ensures that all orders under this framework contract will be directed to it, granting it a distinct advantage over potential competitors.

The ultimate customer for the systems is a joint task force of the US Department of Defense, the Joint Interagency Task Force (JIATF 401), established in August 2025 and serving as a leading body in the fight against small unmanned aerial systems. The task force combines capabilities from various branches of the US military (Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marines) and federal law enforcement bodies. The supply will be carried out under the "Domestic Shield" program, which aims to support operational requirements for force protection, base defense, and countering UAV threats inside and outside the United States.

Smart Shooter's technology is designed to provide a "Kinetic Defeat" solution – meaning the physical interception of the target. According to the report, the systems are designed to "increase the Probability of Kill against small unmanned aerial systems and other dynamic targets." By doing so, the technology improves both the lethality and survivability of combatants on the modern battlefield, where drones have become a common and significant threat. The choice of Smart Shooter's solution indicates an American demand for "hard" and efficient solutions capable of definitively neutralizing the threat, beyond "soft" solutions such as frequency jamming and blocking.

Smart Shooter views the win as "a very significant milestone in expanding its activity in the US defense market." The contract not only provides significant revenue potential for the next three years, but also serves as a prestigious stamp of approval from the world's most demanding defense customer. The engagement with a dedicated Pentagon anti-drone task force positions Smart Shooter as a key global player in the Counter-UAS sector, a rapidly growing field against the backdrop of intensifying asymmetric threats worldwide.
